Elements like the thermal needs (weather state), the noise blocking needs (nearby area state) and protection needs, guide the choice of the ideal glass type for your uPVC doors and windows.
The following are types of glasses which can be selected:-
Float/Annealed Glass
Standard or annealed glass is one of the most widely utilized types of glasses.
Tinted Glass
These glass types are colored in various shades so as to mainly soak up sun heat. Ideal in reducing power usage, tinted float annealed glass performs thermal blocking and to a high degree of sun heat.
Reflective Glass
Glazed glass with a metal layer, reflective glass assists in bouncing back the sun rays, thus managing thermal blocking better than colored glass and also heat. Also, it maintains low sight from the exterior.
Tempered/Toughened Glass
These glasses are treated under very high heat, thus becoming much tougher than the standard float glass. Because of heat, they turn crisp and due to that when smashed, they break into tiny bits.
Laminated/shatter proof glass
When two glass layers of any of the above mentioned glasses are layered together with one or more sheets of PVB polymer or glue it is termed laminated glass. The method of layering/bonding makes the glass much tougher and avoids quick cracking. Because of PVB Polymer or glue in between the glass does not spray when it cracks.
